How to Register to Get a TAN for a New User?

  • Then, the section will ask to provide “Existing Tax Collection Account Number (TCS)” (if any) 

  • Fill out the option provided for your personal information 

  • Provide GSTN if there is any  

  • Under “Payment Details” section, you have to select appropriate mode of payment and fill relevant details) 

  • Pay the recommended fees 

  • Mention the bank details mentioned in the list (available on click) 

  • Then, click on “Submit”.  

  • On approval, from the income tax form and document analyzing department, you will get a TAN after a certain period. Usually, an individual will get TAN in 15 business days after filling up and submitting the form successfully.  

Offline TAN Application and gathering the form 

1. Go to the adjacent TIN facilitation center and use the 49B form. You can also try to download it from the Income Tax Website. You will fill out Form INC-7 if your business is not registered under the Companies Act. 

2. After filling out the form with all details mentioned for online filing, submit it to the TIN counter with a continuing fee and processing money. You can fill it out by cheque or cash.  

3. After successful submission, you will get a TAN from the office where you submitted, or you can download tan cards by visiting the official portal with your credentials.
