The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India has given the Bulandshahar District Jail a five-star grade and the "eat healthy campus" label. A senior jail official reported that an FSSAI team twice inspected the jail in November after they requested a rating.
The FSSAI team inspected a high-tech kitchen outfitted with a roti-making machine, a flour dough machine, a boiler for boiling vegetables, and cooking utensils, according to jail superintendent RK Jaiswal. Jaiswal remarked: "The team looked around the storage space and examined its cleanliness. Following the inspection, the FSSAI gave the penitentiary a five-star grade and a "eat rite campus" tag."
The food quality, storage, and hygiene in the kitchen were rigorously inspected by the FSSAI team, according to an official release, and the Bulandshahr prison received a five-star rating, the "Eat Right Campus" label, as well as the evaluation of "Excellent" on the basis of their findings.
According to the statement, the inmates and jail staff worked hard to improve the institution's appearance, cleanliness, and food safety. For meal preparation, the employees also used clean full-sleeve gloves, hats, and aprons.
After Farrukhabad jail, Bulandshahr jail is the second institution to receive this designation from Uttar Pradesh.
