Once you have submitted all the relevant details in the registration form, you will be required to verify the details. Follow the steps to proceed with the verification process of the GST registration.
Part 1: Choose the details from the drop-down options available in the GST registration form, follow the steps I mentioned below:
Part 2: Look at all the GSTP/UINs/GSTINs IDs that are mapped to the PAN card that you have submitted. There are some codes that are indicated by the colours:
Click on the button marked as “proceed” to continue with the process of registration.
Part 3: You will be redirected to the next page where you will receive the OTPs in your registered phone number and E-mail ID and you have to fill in the blanks with the respective OTPs.
This page will only be valid for 10 minutes and you have to fill in the blanks in that specified time frame.
Step 3: Generating TRN (Temporary Reference Number)
For your use, a 15-digit Temporary Reference Number, or TRN, has now been generated. The TRN can be used to finish the application process for GST.
Step 4: Logging in
Once you receive the TRN, you can proceed with Part B of the GST registration process.
Visit the Registration page and click on the TRN option: You will need to re-enter the registered email ID, mobile, and captcha OTPs (which are not the same as the ones you received previously). Select "Proceed" from the menu to proceed further with the application.

Turnover Limit: As we discussed earlier you need to touch a particular turnover to be eligible for GST registration. Your business needs to touch that threshold and the concerned threshold varies from state to state.
Inter-State Supply: If your business is engaged in the supply of services or goods, across the different states, GST registration is compulsory. In this case, you have to register your business under GST irrespective of the turnover of your business.
Specific Businesses: There are some specific businesses, such as agents or e-commerce that are required to register for GST, regardless of their annual turnover.
Step 2: Gather all the relevant and updated Documents:
To start with the GST registration process, you have to gather all the relevant documents. Let’s see what the required documents for GST registration are:
PAN Card: (PAN) Permanent Account Number of the concerned business or owner or any signatory authority.
Address and Identity Proof: Proof of Address of the owner of the business or the signatory authority.
Proof of Business Registration: All the relevant documents in connection with company registration. Many times it depends upon the type of business. For instance, if it is a company, you need to provide the Company incorporation certificate, and so on and so forth.
Address proof of the Business: Documents like rent agreement (if any), Ownership details of that particular property, electricity bill etc.
Bank Account details: The applicant needs to provide a copy of the first page of their passbook or have to provide a cancelled cheque which displays the Name of the applicant, Branch details with IFSC code and bank account number.
Step 3: GST Registration Application Status:
After the completion of the GST registration process, the applicant might want to check the status of the registration process, to check the process the applicant needs to follow some steps and the steps are mentioned below:
Visit the GST portal: Visit the official portal for GST and navigate to the tab that is marked as “Services”.
Choose the Track Application Status: Then the pop-up opens and search for the option "track the application status" or anything relevant to that.
Submit the respective ARN: Enter the “Temporary Reference Number” or “Application Reference Number” that you received at the time of registration.
Click on the Search: Click the “Track” or “Search” option to know the status of your GST registration Application.
Check the Status: The concerned portal will display the present status of your application, from there you can know whether it is rejected, pending or approved. You can also view any requirements or additional comments from the concerned GST officer.
Step 4: GST Certificate Download:
When your GST registration application is approved, the applicant can download the concerned GST registration from the GST portal. The applicant has to follow the following steps in order to download the GST certificate:
