A trademark refers to the unique mark that a company uses to distinguish itself from its competitors. Different product is covered under different trademark classes. Trademark class 3 covers cosmetics, cleaning products and items of personal care. It includes products like soaps, shampoos, perfumes, makeup and household cleaning agents. Businesses selling these products must register under this class to protect their brand from infringement. After registration, all the rights of trademark are protected under the Trademarks Act, 1999. In this article, we will learn in detail about Trademark Class 3.
Products that enhance personal appearance and maintain hygiene or clean surfaces are categorized under trademark class 3. Bleaching preparations and other substances for laundry use; cleaning; polishing; scouring and abrasive preparations; soaps; perfumery, essential oils, cosmetics, hair lotions, dentifrices, etc. Other than these products, household cleaning products such as dishwashing liquids, polishes and waxes are included.
